SACO — Harold E. Trask, 85, of Ferry Beach, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, in Biddeford.

He was born in Auburn on Oct. 1, 1930, a son of Wallace and Thelma (Sukeforth) Trask.

Harold served his country in the United States Army from 1948 to 1968. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.

After the service, Harold was employed as a police officer for the City of Saco from 1973 to 1996.

Harold married Anita on April 18, 2011. They managed to do many of the things Harold had on his bucket list with his brotherin law, Ted, who predeceased him.

Harold was a jack-of-alltrades. He was inventive and could make things which made life easier. He was a smiling and gentle man, always willing to help others.

He is preceded in death by: his first wife, Margaret Ann (Northway) Trask on Feb. 2, 1999; one son, Kenneth Trask on Aug. 16, 2015; and one brother and one sister.

He is survived by: his wife, Anita (Alvarez) Huizing of Ferry Beach; one son, Greg Trask and his wife Kim of Arundel; and four grandchildren, Jason Trask and his wife Abbey and their daughter Erin, Kacie Lapierre and her husband Jeff, Heather Pelletier and her husband Kevin and their children Nathan and Isaac, and Maggie Murphy and her husband Stephen and their children Jaxon, Haven and Roman.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
