Kayleigh Cote scored in the first half and Marissa Nance added a goal with 14:44 left Tuesday to give Sanford a 2-1 victory against Portland in an SMAA field hockey regular-season finale at Fitzpatrick Stadium.

Lauren McIntyre scored for Portland (4-10) with 2:10 remaining.

Gianna Gaudet finished with 33 saves for Portland.

Amber Singleton stopped five shots for the Spartans (11-2-1).

SCARBOROUGH 5, NOBLE 0: Lily Nygren, Sydney Rusak, Lauren Topchik, Rachel Paradis and Catherine Taylor scored for the Red Storm (12-2), who had four goals in the second half to pull away from the Knights (0-14) at Scarborough.

BONNY EAGLE 1, BIDDEFORD 0: Samantha Averill scored off a corner from Maddie Corbett with 6:40 left in the first half and the Scots (5-8-1) held off the Tigers (4-9) at Biddeford.

Ashley Wintle made eight saves to record the shutout.

Taylor Wildes finished with 10 saves for Biddeford.

MT. BLUE 2, OXFORD HILLS 0: Hannah Minns and Rebecca Harmon scored for the Cougars (9-4-1) against the Vikings (6-6-2) at Farmington.

Erika McArthur stopped two shots for the Cougars. Anna Huff recorded eight saves for the Vikings. Abby Wallace of Mt. Blue had an assist.

CONY 5, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 0: Delaney Keithley and Kami Lambert each scored twice to power the Rams (10-4) over Hampden Academy (6-7-1) at Augusta.

Lindsay Watts also scored and Jacki Carleton had two saves for Cony. Ruby Ramsay had 22 saves for the Broncos.


WELLS 3, TRAIP ACADEMY 3: Emma Auclair scored off a free kick with under five minutes left in regulation to tie the game for the Rangers (7-4-1) against the Warriors (2-9-1) at Kittery.

Hannah Cottis scored all three goals for the Warriors, who led 1-0 at halftime. The Rangers came back to take a 2-1 lead before Cottis scored twice during a five-minute stretch.

Auclair finished with one goal and two assists. Blanca Alonso and Lily Kemp also scored.

Madison Szczygiel played a strong game on defense for the Warriors.

SEARSPORT 9, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 1: Kerigen Coffin scored four goals as the Vikings (8-4) cruised past the Lions (2-11) at South Portland.

Melinda Ogden had three goals for Searsport. Ashlen Wells and Karyn Kneeland also scored.

Clarissa Jones answered for Greater Portland Christian.

Clairette Kirezi stopped 13 shots for the Lions. Brooklynn Alberts had a pair of saves for the Vikings.

SANFORD 1, CHEVERUS 0: Sydney Littlefield scored from 6 yards off a corner kick from Kristen O’Connell to break a scoreless tie with 7:34 left and lift the Spartans (8-2-2) over the Stags (4-6-2) at Portland.

Kyla Bragg made five saves to record the shutout. Hannah Tyson finished with 12 saves for Cheverus.

BIDDEFORD 1, NOBLE 0: Peyton Janelle took a through ball from Missy Huot and scored from a wide angle as the Tigers (3-8) edged the Knights (1-10) at Biddeford.

Brenna Frye stopped 16 shots for Noble. Anna-Marie had nine saves for Biddeford.

GREELY 4, LAKE REGION 0: Izzy Hutnak had a pair of first-half goals as the Rangers (12-0) downed the Lakers (5-7) at Cumberland.

Jocelyn Mitiguy and Lily Black added second-half goals.

KENNEBUNK 4, POLAND 0: The Rams (4-5-3) got goals from four players and shut out the Knights (2-10) at Kennebunk.

Sierra Tarte, Caitlin Wolff, Lilly Wolff and Leah Bridgham scored, and Hallie Schwartzman added a pair of assists.

Erin Brewer stopped 12 shots for Poland. Kyra Schwartzman and Adia Grogan combined for four saves for Kennebunk.

BRUNSWICK 3, MT. ARARAT 2: Maeve Arthur, Kira Wolpow and Lea Schrapansky scored for the Dragons (9-2-1) against the Eagles (8-4-1) at Brunswick.

Sarah Ferdinand, Lena Martin and Emily Black had assists for Brunswick.

Tori Pelletier scored both goals for Mt. Ararat from Ryley Leech.

Anna Manuel stopped six shots for the Eagles. Beth Labbe had three saves for the Dragons.

CAPE ELIZABETH 3, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Sierra Aceto, Mariah Deschino and Tori McGraw scored to lead the Capers (7-4) past the Raiders (6-4-1) at Cape Elizabeth.

Sarah O’Conner and Montana Braxton each collected an assist.

YARMOUTH 2, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Katie Clemmer and Hannah Merrill scored in the second half to lift the Clippers (5-4-3) over the Patriots (5-5-1) at Gray.

Meredith Lane made one save to record the shutout. Jen Sutherland finished with nine saves for the Patriots.

FALMOUTH 4, FREEPORT 1: Tyler Spence and Amelia Waite each had a pair of goals as the Yachtsmen (6-4-2) cruised past the Falcons (3-8-1) at Falmouth.

Jordan Randall scored a second-half goal for Freeport.

Maddie Squibb stopped 11 shots for the Falcons. Adelaide Cooke recorded three saves for the Yachtsmen.

WISCASSET 2, WINTHROP 1: Gabby Chapman scored both goals to lead Wiscasset (1-10) over the Ramblers (1-12) at Winthrop.

Lindsey Gordon made eight saves for Wiscasset. Jillian Taylor scored and Shie Smith made five stops for Winthrop.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 4, GARDINER 1: Chloe Hallowell and Grace Wehrle each had a goal and an assist to lead Lincoln Academy (8-3-1) over the Tigers (5-5-2) at Gardiner.

Marissa Quirion scored and Tabatha Hebert had 12 saves for Gardiner.

OAK HILL 6, DIRIGO 0: Sydney Drew and Tamara Morgan each scored two goals to pace the Raiders (8-4) over Dirigo (0-12) at Wales. Brittaney Marquis and Julia Ahlberg also scored.

ERSKINE ACADEMY 5, MARANACOOK 0: Kaylee Porter had a goal and two assists to lead the Eagles (8-3-1) over Maranacook (2-8-2) at Readfield.

Cassandra Ray, Mallory Chamberlain, Abby Haskell and Celina Nadeau also scored.


CHEVERUS 3, PORTLAND 0: Maddy Broda had three aces for the visiting Stags (4-8) against the Bulldogs (1-12) at Portland.

Mary Jerome and Emma Ivy added two kills apiece for Cheverus, which won 25-23, 25-17, 25-22.

WELLS 3, LAKE REGION 2: Isabell Smith had 15 digs, six kills and an ace for the Warriors (3-9), who won the last three games to upend the Lakers (3-11) at Naples.

Kait Schott had 12 assists, two aces and a kill for Wells, which dropped the first two games 25-14 before sweeping the final three games, 25-21, 25-19, 15-12.

THORNTON ACADEMY 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Kylemore Austin and Ashley Howe combined for 16 kills as the Golden Trojans (11-2) swept the Red Riots (4-7) at South Portland.

Julia Chasse had 17 assists for Thornton.

Molly Mawhinney had six digs and five kills for South Portland. Taylor Bacheldor and Amanda Bouchards added 10 digs each.
