Patrick Grant, Yarmouth soccer: The senior striker notched his first career hat trick to account for all the scoring in the Clippers’ 3-0 win last Tuesday against Gray-New Gloucester. He also had one goal in a 4-0 win against Kennebunk a week ago Thursday.
HONORABLE MENTION
Joe Esposito, Portland football: Esposito scored five touchdowns and rushed for 240 yards as Portland improved to 6-0 with a 65-0 rout of Lewiston (2-4). In six games, Esposito has rushed for 791 yards and leads Class A North with 12 touchdowns.
Jordan Lowe, Fryeburg Academy golf: Lowe shot the second-best score, a 1-over 73, at the state team golf championships last Saturday. Lowe played the Tomahawk course at Natanis. His team finished sixth in Class B.
Cody Elliott, Gorham soccer: The senior midfielder scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Portland. Elliott’s goals were just the second and third allowed by the Bulldogs this season. Elliott scored once in an 8-0 win against Windham.
GIRLS
Vanessa Hodge, Sanford soccer: The fast and aggressive junior forward scored all three goals for the Spartans in their 3-1 win against Windham last Saturday that snapped the Eagles’ 46-game unbeaten streak (44-0-2). Hodge’s first came 1:13 into the game and she added two in the second half. On Tuesday, Sanford beat Cheverus, 1-0.
HONORABLE MENTION
Ashley Howe, Thornton Academy volleyball: Howe had nine kills and delivered eight aces as the Golden Trojans defeated Cheverus 3-0.
Izzy Hutnak, Greely soccer: Hutnak scored a pair of first-half goals in both a 4-1 win against Cape Elizabeth and a 4-0 win against Lake Region. The Rangers then beat Falmouth 2-0 on Monday.
Libby Pomerleau, Thornton Academy field hockey: Pomerleau tied the school record for assists (20) by notching one in a 1-0 win over Marshwood.
