BETHEL — A Maine man has been released on reduced bail after he was accused of leaving the scene after his vehicle hit and critically injured a 14-year-old bicyclist from New Hampshire.
Richard Marin, of Bethel, is facing a felony count of leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury.
Investigators say the Goffstown teen was clinging to life after being hit Friday afternoon. The boy is from and attended school at Gould Academy in Bethel.
The 45-year-old Marin was arrested Sunday and appeared in Lewiston District Court Monday via videoconference. He was not required to enter a plea.
A judge reduced his bail from $10,000 to $2,000 cash. Authorities say Maris posted bail Monday evening and has been released.
It is unclear if he has a lawyer.
