A tractor trailer truck struck debris on the Maine Turnpike during the Thursday morning commute, slowing traffic in the Falmouth area.

The accident happened in the area of mile 52 northbound, but is causing traffic to slow on both sides of the road, according to State Police. The Maine Turnpike Authority said in a tweet that there is diesel in the roadway and warned drivers to use caution in the area.
