I am writing in support of Tom MacMillan, a candidate in the race for Portland mayor. I’ve known Tom for years, and he is a smart, articulate leader who is honest, informed and compassionate.
Tom has been on the cutting edge of many important Portland issues. He was chair of Portlanders for a Living Wage, a founding board member of Friends of Congress Square Park, a leader in the campaign for local marijuana legislation and active in getting Portland on record in support of publicly financed elections.
He has also had a serious focus on gentrification and the challenges tenants face with skyrocketing rents.
As chairman of the Portland Green Independent Party, Tom has offered a fresh voice with creative and effective alternatives to empower people and improve their daily lives.
As a longtime resident of Portland, I urge you to vote for Tom MacMillan.
