I write to express my enthusiastic support for Spencer Thibodeau for City Council, District 2.
I have been a music and arts promoter in Portland for the past 13 years and the general manager of the State Theatre and Port City Music Hall in the Arts District since 2010.
Between our two venues, we host over 150,000 people on an annual basis, and I feel it’s essential that our next councilor appreciates the arts and will be a responsive conduit to City Hall.
While I only met Spencer recently, I was immediately impressed. Spencer has a deep understanding of the issues affecting Portland’s businesses, and is committed to promoting our arts and music communities.
More importantly, I trust that Spencer is running for the right reasons and will be a steady and thoughtful voice on the council.
I hope you will join me in supporting Spencer Thibodeau on Nov. 3.
