HOUSE DISTRICT 19
Matthew Harrington, a Republican, won the race to fill an unexpired term in House District 19, part of Sanford.
Harrington received 699 votes, 48 percent, in a three-way race.
Jean Noon, a Democrat, came in second with 663 votes, 45 percent. Victor DiGregorio, an independent, finished third with 102 votes, 7 percent.
The seat is vacant because Rep. William F. Noon of Sanford died July 15 at age 66. Noon had a rare form of cancer.
There is still one year left in William Noon’s second term. Jean Noon is his widow.
