Chandler Vincent, Freeport cross country: After placing third in the regional meet, Vincent won the Class B state title to help the Falcons retain their state title. Vincent led a 1-2 finish with teammate Henry Jaques, covering the 5K course in 16 minutes, 34 seconds.

Honorable mention

Tre Fletcher, Cheverus football: Fletcher, a freshman, scored three touchdowns and rushed for 188 yards in a 42-0 win over Lewiston in a Class A North quarterfinal. Fletcher scored on runs of 48, 8 and 58 yards.

Matthew Dostie, Yarmouth soccer: Dostie scored twice to lead the Clippers to a 3-1 win over Greely in a Class B South semifinal. Dostie scored after 40 seconds on a shot just under the crossbar and added a second early in the second half on another high, hard shot.

Ryan Gullikson, Fryeburg Academy football: Gullikson scored on a quarterback sneak with 23 seconds remaining after driving his team the length of the field for a 36-29 win over Spruce Mountain in a Class C quarterfinal. Gullikson threw two touchdowns and ran for two more.

Girls

Anna Slager, Gorham cross country: Slager broke away from a pack of four to win the Class A individual state title. A two-time regional champion, Slager finished the 5K course in 19:42 to win by 10 seconds after placing seventh in the state as a freshman.

Honorable mention

Lily Posternak, York field hockey: Posternak, a junior, had a goal and an assist to help the Wildcats win their second straight state Class B field hockey championship with a 3-2 win over Winslow. It was York’s 36th straight win. Posternak has committed to play at Duke.

Kacey Foerster, Scarborough volleyball: Foerster won seven straight points on her serve to give the Red Storm a 17-13 lead in the third set against Greely, which they ended up winning, 25-20. Scarborough won the fourth set 25-22 to take three straight sets after losing the first set to capture the school’s first Class A state championship.

Makena Brooks, Oceanside soccer: Brooks had three goals to lead the top-ranked Mariners to a 6-0 win over 12th-seeded Gardiner in a Class B North semifinal.
