A Gorham man was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with non-life threatening injuries Sunday evening after he crashed his pickup truck on Windham Center Road in Windham.
Police Sgt. Ray Williams said the driver, 23-year-old Evan Lambert, had to be extricated from the wreckage after his Ford F-350 truck left the road and slid into a tree.
Police initially called for the LifeFlight helicopter to transport Lambert, but canceled the flight due to high winds.
Williams said Lambert was alone at the time. The accident remains under investigation. Speed and alcohol are considered factors in the crash.
Windham police had to shut down Windham Center Road for two hours following the crash, which was reported at 4:32 p.m.
