PHILADELPHIA — A stretch of road in Philadelphia has been renamed for late “60 Minutes” correspondent Ed Bradley, who began his broadcasting career in the city.

A spokeswoman for KYW-TV said part of City Avenue between Monument Road and Presidential Boulevard was dedicated as Ed Bradley Way during a Saturday ceremony.

Bradley grew up in a tough section of Philadelphia, where he once recalled that his parents worked 20-hour days at two jobs apiece.

Bradley’s skills as a broadcast journalist were recognized with numerous awards, including 19 Emmys. He died in 2006.
