FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — New England Patriots offensive lineman Nate Solder has disclosed that his infant son has cancer.

Solder, who earlier this year revealed that he was treated for testicular cancer, told a crowd at a charity event on Monday that his 3-month-old son, Hudson, has a form of kidney cancer.

Solder was the keynote speaker at The Gratitude Gala to benefit The Joe Andruzzi Foundation, named for the former Patriots lineman who also beat cancer.

The 6-foot 8-inch, 320-pound Solder said he went public about his son’s illness to provide comfort and strength to other families undergoing to same thing.

Solder said that on Oct. 19, while he was bathing Hudson, he felt a “strange bulge” on his side. Hudson has received four chemotherapy treatments and has 15 more to go.
