The victim of a hit-and-run early Saturday morning in Alfred remained in critical condition Sunday night, according to a spokeswoman for Maine Medical Center in Portland.
John Caramihalis, 21, of Alfred was injured around 2:45 a.m. Saturday in the York County town when a motorist struck him and fled.
Maine State Police said their investigation into the hit-and-run remains active, and that no one has been arrested.
Caramihalis was hit on the dirt portion of Kennebunk Road. Police said a large number of young adults were participating in an outdoor party on the same road – about one mile from the scene of the incident. An anonymous caller notified police.
