BIDDEFORD — Louise L. Loughery, 82, of Biddeford, passed away late Sunday morning on Nov. 22, 2015, surrounded by her family and loved ones at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born in Saco on Aug. 25, 1933, a daughter of James and Arelia Berry. She graduated from Thornton Academy.

After high school, Louise served her country as a photographer for the United States Navy. While in the Navy she met and married her husband Joseph Loughery, a United States Marine, and they had three children.

After the service, she moved back to Saco. She was a homemaker, teacher’s aide and crossing guard while her children were young. Later, she was employed by Saco Lowell/Saco Defense for 26 years. During retirement, she looked forward to working at the Nestling Duck in Pine Point each year.

Louise enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching and cake decorating.

She was preceded in death by: her son, Joseph; brothers, Freddy, and James; and sisters, Bertha, and Beverly.

She is survived by: her life partner, Joseph E. Demeule; her daughters, Theresa “Terri” Desautels, and Kathleen Loughery; her sisters, Leona Couture, Edrina Blow and Doris Clappison; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p .m., Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at New Life Church in Biddeford.
