BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Kyle Rau scored the tying goal with 59.9 seconds remaining in regulation and John McFarland got the winner just 10 seconds later as the Portland Pirates rallied for a 2-1 win Saturday night against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Rau’s ninth goal of the season came just seconds after the Pirates pulled goalie Sam Brittain for an extra skater. Cameron Gaunce and Rob Schremp assisted on the goal.

McFarland then converted a Bridgeport turnover into the winning goal. Garrett Wilson assisted on McFarland’s sixth goal of the season.

The Sound Tigers took a 1-0 lead on Bracken Kearns’ power-play goal with 27 seconds left in the second period.

Brittain finished with 26 saves. Stephon Williams made 31 saves for Bridgeport.
