WATERBORO — A 30-year-old man accused of assaulting his former girlfriend, her male companion and a law enforcement officer early Saturday was scheduled to make a first appearance this afternoon at Springvale District Court.

Eric Marshall Olin of Parsonsfield remained incarcerated at York County Jail in Alfred over the weekend, held without bail, following the 1 a.m. incident on Saturday at a mobile home at 170 Sokokis Trail.

York County Sheriff Bill King in a statement said deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at the mobile home and learned that Olin had allegedly broken in and assaulted his former girlfriend and her male companion while they were sleeping. According to King, the male companion ran to a neighbor’s residence where he called police.

The sheriff said the male companion was “badly beaten” but refused medical attention. The former girlfriend managed to get to the bathroom where she hid from Olin, said King in an email this morning.

Deputies found Olin hiding in the mobile home.

“Olin resisted arrest and was subdued and ultimately arrested,” King wrote in statement. “While being escorted out of the residence, Olin lunged at Sgt. Steven Thistlewood, knocking him down, causing injury to his right knee.”

The sheriff said this is not the first time Olin has assaulted his former girlfriend, and he faces violation of conditions of release charges in connection with a prior domestic violence incident involving the same woman. As well, Olin is charged with assaulting an officer and assaulting the woman’s male companion.

Olin was scheduled to make a first appearance this afternoon by video link from York County Jail.
