Joe Grant stopped 24 shots in a shutout Thursday night as South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete downed Poland/Gray-New Gloucester/Oak Hill 6-0 in a schoolboy hockey game at the Troubh Ice Arena.

Ian Young scored a goal and dished out a pair of assists for South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete.

Mitchell Adams had a goal and an assist, and Max Winson, Aidan Schifan and Tyler Goldberg each chipped in scores for South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete (1-1).

Ken Humphrey had 27 saves for Poland/Gray-New Gloucester/Oak Hill (0-1).

KENNEBUNK 2, GREELY 0: Brendan Whitten scored from James Ross early in the first period and Donovan Conner assisted on a goal by Patrick Gassman later in the period as the Rams (2-1) beat the Rangers (0-1) at Falmouth.

Joe MacDonald stopped 27 shots for Greely. Spencer Desrochers saved all 11 shots for Kennebunk.

SCARBOROUGH 3, BIDDEFORD 2: Matt Caron stole the puck at center ice and broke free for a score 13 seconds into overtime to lift the Red Storm (3-0) over the Tigers (1-1) at Saco.

Biddeford took a 1-0 lead after eight minutes on a goal by Kerry Crepeau from Curtis Petit. It extended the lead later in the period on an unassisted goal by Liam Turner.

Cam Nigro of the Red Storm scored on a power-play goal three minutes into the second from Caron, who scored his first goal on a power play four minutes into the period from Nigro and John Callahan.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

BUCKFIELD 60, SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 34: Jacob Kraske scored 15 of his game-high 22 points in the first quarter as the Bucks (1-2) opened a 22-7 lead and downed the Guardians (0-1) at Buckfield.

Caleb LaCroix led Seacoast Christian with 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

MASSABESIC 61, BONNY EAGLE 45: Tyus Sprague-Ripley scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures for the Mustangs (3-0) against the Scots (1-2) at Waterboro.

Dan Amabile scored 11 points, and Josh Daigle and Ryan Gullickson each added 10 for Massabesic, which led by as many as 28 in the fourth quarter.

A.R. GOULD 45, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 36: Eric Myers scored 15 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out six assists to lead the visiting Bears (1-2) past the Lions (0-3) at South Portland.

Abdi Ibrahim added nine points and Tyrese Collins chipped in eight for A.R. Gould, which outscored Greater Portland Christian 11-5 in the fourth quarter.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

BOOTHBAY REGION 44, MT. ABRAM 10: Hannah Morley scored a game-high 16 points, including three baskets from behind the arc, as the Seahawks (3-0) defeated the Roadrunners (1-2) at Boothbay Harbor.

WESTBROOK 49, MT. ARARAT 31: Alisha Aube scored a game-high 21 points and Nyagoa Bayak added 11 to lead the Blue Blazes (1-2) past the Eagles (1-2) in Topsham.

Nicole Bradstreet scored nine points and Sara Lamb added seven for Mt. Ararat, which trailed 24-17 at halftime.

WELLS 50, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 23: Natalie Thurber scored a game-high 12 points and Halee Ramsdell added 10 to lead the Warriors (3-0) over the Seagulls (1-2) at Old Orchard Beach.

Leah Tufts chipped in with eight points for Wells.

GIRLS’ HOCKEY

CHEVERUS/KENNEBUNK/OLD ORCHARD BEACH 6, GORHAM/BONNY EAGLE/MASSABESIC 0: Lily Wolff and Jill Hannigan each had a pair of second-period goals as Cheverus/Kennebunk/Old Orchard Beach (4-2) shut out Gorham/Bonny Eagle/Massabesic (0-5) at Portland.

Sophia Pompeo had a goal and a pair of assists, and Sophia Giancotti dished out four assists.
