A man and woman were charged early Thursday morning with drug possession and drug trafficking, respectively, after Maine State Police troopers stopped a vehicle for speeding and searched the car.

Troopers Justin Huntley and Kristy Libritz stopped the vehicle, driven by Christopher Rickett, 29, at about 3 a.m. after it sped through the toll booth in York.

The trooper brought in a drug dog to search the vehicle, which was returning from New York, and found both cocaine and heroin.

Rickett was issued a summons for drug possession and allowed to drive home.

A passenger in the car, Cierrha Frisbie, 23, also of Portland, was charged with drug trafficking for possessing 50 grams combined of cocaine and heroin. She was arrested and taken to York County Jail.

Rickett’s wife and two young children were in the car as well, according to police.
