Several officers with York County police agencies are among the 60 graduates of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. The new officers, who mostly come from the local and county ranks, spent 18 weeks at the academy in study and training and graduated on Friday. Among the topics the officers studied were crime scene processing, emergency vehicle operation, first aid, traffic and criminal law, domestic violence and sexual assault. Most of the new officers will begin patrolling immediately, in time for Christmas and New Year’s enforcement efforts, said Maine Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland.

Local officers are:

Victor E. Parker, Biddeford Police; Patrick S. Roy, Eliot Police; Michael D. Mizzoni, Old Orchard Beach Police; Alexis D. Ivy and Adam M. Linden, Saco Police; and Levi P. Johnson, York County Sheriff ’s Office.
