Thank you to Rabbi Carolyn Braun (“Another View: It’s time to join together – and speak out against discrimination,” Dec. 13) for reminding us that the racism of Donald Trump is a prelude to fascism.

No thank you to John E. diPretoro (“Letter to the editor: It’s time to move Nemitz’s insults to the Opinion page,” Dec. 16), who claims that the racism of “anti-Muslim talk” is an acceptable partisan position.

Would our country ever ban Christians from entering the United States because a Christian killed people at the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood? That would be absurd, as are Trump’s comments.

Muslims came to this country with the first colonists; they are not strangers but Americans, citizens, professionals, mothers and fathers.
