YARMOUTH — Michael Trautman will present his solo family-friendly variety show “Head in the Clouds,” featuring some of his favorite routines in mime, clowning, magic, storytelling and his latest creation, King Pong’s Ping Pong Rodeo.

The shows – being held to celebrate Trautman’s recent appointment as executive director of Firehouse Arts – will be at 7 p.m. Sunday and Thursday through Saturday at 20 Center St.

Trautman, a well-known and well-traveled physical comedian from Portland, plans to establish the Maine Center for Variety Arts under the auspices of Firehouse Arts as a center for teaching, promoting and presenting variety artists.

He will offer clown camps for kids during the upcoming February and April school vacations. Beginning March 14, the center will offer after-school classes in mime, clowning, improvisation, magic and juggling.
