She was born in Port Jefferson, New York on July 30, 1941 to Merlon and Edna Wilson. She attended local schools.
She lived in New York for most of her life until she moved to Maine in 1991 to be closer to her family. Effie was a woman who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed antique shopping trips and exploring sales. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and friend.
She was predeceased by her husband Clarence Lang and sister Janice Banville.
She is survived by her three children, Priscilla McNally and her significant other Glen Mitchell, John Lang and his wife Elaine and Janice Guertin and her significant other Steve Proctor; her niece Garnet Cote and her husband Pat; great niece and great nephew, Heather Cote and Cameron Cote; grandchildren, Crystal McNally, Joseph McNally, Justin Guertin, Brittany Guertin and Christine Lang; and great grandchildren, Evan McNally, Eric Elliot, Brody Rich, Aaliyah Billings, Jaxson Rich and Eli Guertin.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 3 p.m. at the Lafrance- Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and run until the time of the service
