BANGOR — Till Gloger and Kevin Little each scored 20 points Tuesday night as the University of Maine men’s basketball team defeated Quinnipiac 98-95 in overtime at the Cross Insurance Center.

Gloger and Little combined for 11 of Maine’s 18 points in overtime with Little making the final two points from the foul line.

The Bobcats (4-7) forced overtime when Giovanni McLean made a 3-pointer with 16 seconds left to make it 80-80. Little missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Gloger and Little each had 12 points in a back-and-forth first half that had Quinnipiac leading 47-46 at halftime.

Maine (3-9) went ahead 77-69 with 5:48 left in the second half following a 12-3 run, but the Bobcats rallied on three turnovers by the Black Bears.

Abdulai Bundu led Quinnipiac with 23 points followed by McLean with 19.

Lavar Harewood had 16 points and Ryan Bernstein finished with 10 for Maine.

HAMILTON 76, SOUTHERN MAINE 72: Peter Hoffman scored 19 points to lead the Continentals (7-3) over the Huskies (6-6) in the Arizona Shootout at Phoenix.

Hoffman gave Hamilton the lead for good on a layup with nine minutes left.

Four of Southern Maine’s starters finished in double digits led by Jose Nouchanthavong with 21 points. Zach Leal added 15, Atencio Martin had 13 and Cole Libby 10 for the Huskies. Martin also had 10 rebounds.

WORCESTER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE 58, BATES 51: Clyde Niba scored 20 points and the Engineers (9-1) held the Bobcats (4-5) to 20 points in the second half at Lewiston.

Niba gave the Engineers the lead for good at 45-43 on a layup with 8:57 left as WPI closed with a 13-8 run.

Mike Boornazian had 15 points and Mike Newton 13 for Bates.

(13) MIAMI 76, PRINCETON 64: Angel Rodriguez scored 14 points and Miami (11-1) withstood an upset bid, beating Princeton (7-4) at Coral Gables, Florida.

(14) PURDUE 61, WISCONSIN 55: A.J. Hammons scored 24 points, Dakota Mathias hit two 3s in the final 1:19 and Purdue (13-1, 1-0 Big Ten) held off Wisconsin (8-6, 0-1) at Madison, Wisconsin.

(17) SOUTHERN METHODIST 81, TULSA 69: Shake Milton scored a career-high 24 points and went 7 of 8 from 3-point range to lead visiting Southern Methodist (12-0, 1-0 American Athletic) over Tulsa (8-5, 0-1).

(20) TEXAS A&M 82, CAL POLY 63: Freshman Tyler Davis matched his season high with 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting and Texas A&M (10-2) beat Cal Poly (6-7) at College Station, Texas.

TEMPLE 77, (22) CINCINNATI 70: Quenton DeCosey scored 19 points and hit three free throws in the closing seconds, helping visiting Temple (6-5, 1-0 American Athletic) pull away from Cincinnati (10-4, 0-1) – the Owls’ first win over a ranked team this season.

(23) BAYLOR 72, TEXAS SOUTHERN 59: Al Freeman scored 21 points and ignited a pivotal run that finally put Baylor (10-2) in control against Texas Southern (1-11) at Waco, Texas.

(12) DUKE 84, WESTERN CAROLINA 47: Azura Stevens scored 21 points with 10 rebounds and Duke (10-3) routed Western Carolina (3-9) at Durham, North Carolina.

(16) TEXAS A&M 88, PRAIRIE VIEW A&M 30: Khaalia Hillsman hit 10 of 13 shots for a career-high 22 points and Texas A&M (10-3) downed Prairie View A&M (4-5) at College Station, Texas.

(23) MISSOURI 88, CHARLOTTE 71: Jordan Frericks recorded her 20th career double-double with 16 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, and Missouri (13-0) beat Charlotte (7-4) at Columbia, Missouri.
