BANGOR – A grand jury has indicted two New York men on murder charges in a shooting in Maine that left one person dead and another wounded.

Twenty-seven-year-old Robert Hansley and 37-year-old Thomas Ferguson, both of Brooklyn, are charged with murder and elevated aggravated assault.

Ferguson was also indicted on a charge of tampering with a victim.

Police say the men shot and killed 38-year-old Robert Kennedy and wounded another person Nov. 27 in an apartment building in Bangor.

Police haven’t released the name of the wounded person. They said the person underwent surgery for gunshot wounds.

Hansley and Ferguson are being held without bail at the Penobscot County Jail. It wasn’t immediately known if they had lawyers.
