A Maine State Police trooper and a 73-year-old woman from New Hampshire were injured in a crash on Route 111 in Lyman on Saturday afternoon.
State police Cpl. Doug Cropper was headed west on Route 111 around 4 p.m. when a speeding car heading east passed him, Sgt. Jim Urquhart said.
As Cropper made a U-turn to catch up with the speeder, his 2015 Ford Explorer cruiser was hit on the driver’s side by a 2012 Nissan Versa driven by Mary Allen of Sanbornville, New Hampshire, Urquhart said.
Both Cropper and Allen were taken to local hospitals, treated and released, Urquhart said.
Both cars were totaled, Urquhart said. No charges were filed, he said, but an investigation of the crash is continuing.
The speeder got away, Urquhart said.
