Baker Newman Noyes announced Monday that Carl Chatto has officially taken the lead as managing principal of the growing accounting firm.

Chatto has succeeded Eleanor “Ellie” Baker, managing principal and a founding member of the firm, who will work closely with Chatto over the next several months to ensure a smooth transition before retiring this summer.

Chatto will be based at the firm’s headquarters in Portland. He previously served as director of audit and currently provides audit and advisory services to a broad spectrum of clients. He is actively involved in several professional and community organizations, including the Maine Historical Society.
