Barbara Ann Pfeiffer (née Homan), 73, passed away in Littleton, Massachusetts, on Dec. 22, 2015, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born in Bath, Maine, to Jesse and Sara (Wheatley) Homan and attended Morse High School. Barbara moved to Old Lyme then Westbrook, Connecticut, where she raised her family and worked as an LPN, retiring from the State Department of Corrections.

After retirement, she worked as a traveling nurse and spent time in Alaska and Wyoming, spending summers at Yellowstone National Park and eventually settling in Thayne, Wyoming.

Barbara loved the outdoors and was an avid reader. Her home in Thayne looked out over the mountains, and she liked nothing more than to enjoy the view with a cup of coffee and a good book.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Richard Homan of Bath, Maine. She is survived by her sister, Jane Peabody of Bremen, Maine, and her three children, David Burnham of East Haddam, Connecticut, S. Denise Wyman of Phippsburg, Maine, and Sara Wiener of Concord, Massachusetts, and her six grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held in the spring at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath, Maine.
