LYMAN — Raymond J. Dede Jr., 77, of Lyman, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at his home.

He was born Sept. 12, 1938, in New Britain, Connecticut, a son of Raymond J. and Josie (Howard) Dede Sr. He attended school in Southington, Connecticut, and after coming to Maine, went to Arundel and Kennebunk schools.

Raymond served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955- 59. On Sept. 10, 1960, he married Julia Bourgault in the Goodwins Mills Baptist Church.

He had been employed with Wakefield Sheet Metal, K&E Machine Shop in Kennebunk, the Maine Turnpike Authority and Don’s Sheet Metal. He also worked as a stern man on a gill netter for several years. Most recently, he was employed at Saco Valley Auto, retiring in 2000.

A car enthusiast, he enjoyed following NASCAR events.

Surviving are: Julia Dede, his wife of 55 years, of Lyman; two sons, Drew Dede of West Kennebunk and Dana Dede of Lyman; one daughter, Donna Dennison and her husband Bill of Duncan, Oklahoma; one brother, Tom Dede and his wife Kathy of Lyman; one sister, Myrna Dede of West Kennebunk; and four grandchildren, Robert, Kristin, Joe and Kristen.

Visiting hours will be 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, West Kennebunk.
