PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — Two Maine men who survived a plane crash in New Hampshire last summer have reunited with the emergency responders who rescued them.
The Portsmouth Herald reports Ronald Gagnon of Biddeford and Roger Cross of Saco spoke publicly for the first time at Portsmouth Regional Hospital on Tuesday about the June 14, 2015, crash.
Authorities said the two men were seriously injured when the Piper PA-28 plane crashed in the woods in North Hampton after taking off from Hampton Airfield. Cross suffered severe burns. Gagnon suffered nine broken ribs, a broken sternum, severe burns and other injuries.
Cross and Gagnon thanked North Hampton firefighters for their work that day and the doctors who helped them recover.
