SOUTH BERWICK — Curtis Knapton scored 13 points and Zacari Manoogian added 11 to lead Westbrook to a 50-40 victory against Marshwood in an SMAA schoolboy basketball game Wednesday night.

Landon Sjoberg added nine points for Westbrook (9-7), which used an 8-2 run in the third quarter to extend its lead to 33-26 entering the fourth.

Dawson Casey and Ryan O’Neil each scored 14 points to lead Marshwood (7-8).

SCARBOROUGH 75, NOBLE 47: Nick Fiorillo ended all thoughts of a comeback by Noble (0-16), scoring 12 of his 19 points in the third period as the Red Storm (6-10) increased a 28-17 halftime lead to 53-32 entering the final quarter at Scarborough.

Jacob Gardner added 13 points, Emmett Peoples 11 and Reece Lagerquist 10 for Scarborough. Brandon Davis scored 15 for the Knights.

SOUTH PORTLAND/FREEPORT/WAYNFLETE 3, MARSHWOOD/TRAIP ACADEMY/SANFORD 2: Cam Gillies took a feed from Mitchell Adams for a one-timer into the net to give South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete (4-8-1) a 1-0 second-period lead against Marshwood/Traip Academy/Sanford (2-9-2) at Dover, New Hampshire.

Aidan Schifano upped the lead to 2-0 before Jarid Tomblin cut the lead to one entering the final period.

SCARBOROUGH 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Justin Perry, Cam Smith and Cam Nigro each had a goal and an assist to lead the Red Storm (11-0-1) past the Trojans (6-4-1) at Saco.

Perry gave Scarborough a 1-0 lead late in the first period from Mason Parks. The Red Storm extended their lead early in the second off a goal by Smith from Nigro and Perry.

GORHAM 6, YORK 2: The top line of Carl Bear, Carter Landry and Lucas Roop combined for six goals and eight assists to power the Rams (5-7) over York (8-5) at Gorham.

Bear and Landry each had three goals and three assists, and Roop added a pair of assists. Jake Martin and Nick Giles each had a goal and an assist for the Wildcats.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

SCARBOROUGH 67, NOBLE 19: Brooke Malone led three double-figure scorers for Scarborough, totaling 14 points as the Red Storm (6-9) cruised past the Knights (1-14) at Scarborough.

Jamie Sargent added 11 points and Jordyn Cowant scored 10 for the Red Storm, who led 31-9 at halftime.

MARSHWOOD 48, WESTBROOK 36: Gabrielle Bazemore, Hailey Tarr and Natalie Herbold each scored nine points to lead the Hawks (8-7) past the Blue Blazes (8-7) at Westbrook.

Tied 23-23 at halftime, Marshwood pulled away with a 25-13 run in the second half.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 73, HYDE 32: Brianna Plante hit a pair of 3-pointers and two 2-pointers to lead the Seagulls (7-8) on a 23-7 game-opening run against Hyde (5-10) at Old Orchard Beach.

Peyton Feitz finished with 18 points and Plante 13 for Old Orchard. Emma Levensohn led the Phoenix with 16 points.

GIRLS’ HOCKEY

BIDDEFORD 6, GORHAM/BONNY EAGLE/MASSABESIC 0: Suzette Lamoureaux scored once in each period while leading the Tigers (6-11) against Gorham/Bonny Eagle/Massabesic (0-17) at Biddeford.

Calea Roy, Cali Collard and Paige Boudreau also scored.

YARMOUTH/FREEPORT/GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 4, LEWISTON/MONMOUTH ACADEMY/OAK HILL 2: Katie Clemmer tied it 3:16 into the third period and Colleen Sullivan scored the go-ahead goal 36 seconds later, helping Yarmouth/Freeport/Gray-New Gloucester (7-10) overcome a 2-1 deficit against the Blue Devils (10-6-1) at Lewiston.

Jenny Holmquist’s empty-netter with 15 seconds left completed the scoring.
