AUBURN — A slow start cost the Brunswick Junior High School girls basketball team in a 44-30 loss to Auburn on Tuesday.

The Huskies (3-6) fell behind 13-2 after a quarter and still trailed 23-11 at the half.

But, Brunswick battled back in the third, trimming Auburn’s (8-2) advantage to 31-23.

Grace Clendening paced Brunswick with 16 points, with Kira Smith adding seven, including a pair of 3- pointers.

Auburn received 20 points from Chantel Ouellette and 14 from Lydia Celanti.
