BLUE SPRINGS, MO — Ann E. Jones, 69, passed away on Dec. 11, 2015, at home with her loving family by her side. Ms. Jones was born on June 24, 1946, in Bath, ME.

Ann was the daughter of Paul Sr. and Catherine McCole.

Ann graduated from Morse High School. While in high school Ann was a talented musician, playing first clarinet in the high school band. She was also a talented singer forming a singing group named “The Sisters Eight.” Following high school Ann attended Thayer Hospital School of Medical Technology in Waterville, graduating in 1966.

She married and later moved to Missouri in 1967 to raise her family. Ann moved back to Maine in 1991 and enjoyed time with family and friends while working the cosmetic department at Porteous in Brunswick. Ann returned to Missouri in 2001 to witness the birth of her first grandchild. Ann was the caregiver for her three grandchildren for several years for which her children will be eternally grateful.

Ann continued taking care of children as an employee of the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District in the Kids Country before and after school program starting in 2006. She worked primarily at Mason Elementary School until her retirement in May of 2015. Ann returned to the Kids Country program as a substitute in August of 2015, before becoming ill.

Ann planned to volunteer at the Cancer Center in Lee’s Summit, MO, after she retired. To honor her, making a donation in her name or taking warm blankets and treats for the nurses and patients would make her smile.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Sr. and Catherine McCole, and her brother, Joseph F. McCole III.

Ann is survived by a brother, Paul Jr. McCole and his wife Donna, sister-in-law, Joan McCole, a son, Marty Jones and his wife Mary Jo Jones, a daughter, Angela Campbell and husband Andy Campbell. Three grandchildren, Ashton Campbell, Caleb Jones and Andersen Campbell, and several nieces and nephews, and her very best friends Velma Irish from Maine and Mary Cox from Missouri.

Ann loved her home state of Maine and it was her wish that services to be held in Maine.

A celebration of her life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the McCole residence, West Side Drive, Birch Point, West Bath. A private family burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath.
