OLD TOWN (AP) — The shuttered Old Town pulp mill has been sold to a Connecticut company.

Wisconsin-based Expera Specialty Solutions says it closed the sale to MFGR LLC on Wednesday. The companies did not disclose the terms of the sale.

A representative for MFGR tells the Portland Press Herald the company will soon begin negotiations with potential buyers for the facility. The representative says companies are interested in buying the site to operate it as a mill and others are interested in using it as warehouse space.

Four companies that bought the Lincoln Paper and Tissue mill last year formed MFGR. That mill is being dismantled. Verso Corp. also announced it was filing for bankruptcy protection on Tuesday. That company operates a paper mill in Jay.
