FALMOUTH — A new park-and-ride lot has opened in West Falmouth behind Circle K, along the side entrance to the property where it connects with Leighton Road.
The lot, which can accommodate eight cars, is a temporary solution while the town works with the Maine Turnpike Authority to find a parcel that is suited for more vehicles. The town reached an agreement with a private property owner to establish the lot.
The lot replaces the previous Maine Turnpike Exit 53 park-and-ride, which permanently closed last November.
