GORHAM — Pat Dickert hit a game-winning jumper with 51 seconds left as Colby edged Southern Maine 71-70 in a nonconference men’s basketball game Tuesday night.

Down by four with 2:18 to play, Colby (13-7) scored the final five points.

Patrick Stewart put in a e-pointer to cut the deficit to 70-69, and after Dickert’s bucket, the Huskies (12-8) had a couple of unsuccessful shots for a winner.

Chris Hudnut led the Mules with 17 points. Sam Willson had a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.

Atencio Martin led five players in double figures for the Huskies with 17, while Jose Nouchantavong had 14 points, Cole Libby added 13, and Omar Haji-Hersi and Zach Leal each chipped in 10.

HUSSON 93, BOWDOIN 72: Raheem Anderson led the Eagles (15-4) with 22 points as they closed out the first half with a 12-1 run to pull away from the Polar Bears (9-8) at Bangor.

Bowdoin, which trailed 45-31 at halftime, was led by a game-high 28 points from Lucas Hausman.

BATES 91, UM-FARMINGTON 71: Mike Boornazian made five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 20 points as the Bobcats (10-10) pulled away from the Beavers (2-16) at Farmington.

The Beavers were led by Ryan Camire, who tied a career high with 16 points.

GORDON 76, UNE 67: The Fighting Scots (10-10, 7-6) scored 12 straight points during a three-minute stretch midway through the second half to erase a five-point deficit and rally past the Nor’easters (10-10, 5-8) in a Commonwealth Coast Conference game at Biddeford.

UNE was led by 14 points from C.J. Autry, while Devin Thompson and Gavin Dibble added 10 points apiece.

(1) OKLAHOMA 95, TCU 72: With Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant on hand, Buddy Hield scored 17 points to help the Sooners win at home. Hield, the nation’s No. 2 scorer, was held below his 26.0 average, but shot 7 of 13 from the field and made 3 of 8 3-point attempts.

DEPAUL 77, (11) PROVIDENCE 70: Myke Henry had 27 points and 11 rebounds, and host DePaul held off the Friars for a surprising win.

(14) WEST VIRGINIA 81, IOWA STATE 76: Jaysean Paige scored 23 points, including a crucial 3 with 1:05 left as West Virginia won at Ames, Iowa.

Devin Williams added 17 points and 18 rebounds for the Mountaineers (18-4, 7-2).

TENNESSEE 84, (20) KENTUCKY 77: Kevin Punter Jr. scored 27 points, and Armani Moore added 18 points and 13 rebounds as the Volunteers erased a 21-point deficit in an upset at Knoxville, Tennessee.

GEORGIA 69, (25) SOUTH CAROLINA 56: Yante Maten scored 18 points, Kenny Gaines had 17, and Georgia (12-8, 5-4 Southeastern Conference) upset South Carolina (19-3, 6-3) at Athens, Georgia, giving the Gamecocks their third loss.

J.J. Frazier hit two late 3s for Georgia, which snapped a two-game losing streak.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

(5) MARYLAND 87, PURDUE 67: Shatori Walker-Kimbrough scored a career-high 41 points in a win for the Terrapins (20-2, 9-1 Big Ten) at West Lafayette, Indiana.

UNE 96, GORDON 31: Olivia Shaw scored 21 points to lead five players in double figures for the Nor’easters (17-3, 13-0) as they cruised to a Commonwealth Coast Conference victory over the Fighting Scots (4-16, 0-13) at Biddeford.

Alicia Brown added 16 points and Sam MacDonald scored 15 for the Nor’easters, who never trailed and led 52-10 at halftime.

USM 57, COLBY 46: Megan Pelletier scored eight points and Ella Ramonas seven as the Huskies (12-8), trailing 39-34 after three periods, outscored Colby (11-9) 23-7 during the fourth quarter to win in Gorham.

Pelletier finished with 16 for the Huskies, and Ramonas 12. Haley Driscoll’s 12 led the Mules.

ST. JOSEPH’S 64, RIVIER 55: Kelsi McNamara finished with 15 points, eight assists and four steals for the Monks (16-4, 6-0), as they used an 18-5 second-quarter run to pull away from the Raiders (8-12, 3-4) in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference game at Standish.

Morgan Cahill added 10 points and six rebounds for the Monks, who built a 33-22 halftime lead.
