BOWDOIN

A GoFundMe page has been established to help the family of 18- year-old Mira Graziano, who was killed in a car crash Monday night on Route 201 in Bowdoin.

According to the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department, Graziano was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer sport utility vehicle when she crashed into a tree near Rocky Ridge Orchard Monday night. The Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department said Tuesday she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and they don’t know what caused the crash.

Tuesday a GoFundMe page was created by Mary Graziano Richard, who wrote, “Our family is broken. Our sweet Mira was sent to Heaven way too soon. We are asking for help with expenses.”

The campaign goal was $7,000 but by Wednesday morning had raised $11,810 and nearly 250 donations in 18 hours.

“ I just cannot believe the outpouring of love,” Richard wrote in an update. “I do not think I could ever thank everyone enough for the support they have given our family,” which extends beyond financial support to the phone calls and test messages, Facebook messages and posts the family has received.

The GoFundMe page can be found at gofundme.com/cdmqa3v8.
