BAR HARBOR

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, which has a branch location in Topsham, concluded its 27th annual Community Food Drive. More than 2,525 food items and more than $1,240 were collected for and delivered to local food pantries.

“On behalf of the bank, I would like to thank everyone who offered a helping hand by donating to the food drive. These simple gifts help make ends meet for so many individuals and families in Maine, in communities from Topsham to Lubec,” said Margie Gray of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.

The gifts helped fill holiday food baskets and stock the shelves of local food pantries for the winter months.

Each of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust’s 15 branches also collected donations for the food drive and delivered them to their local food pantry for distribution. The food pantries that received these donations included: Bar Harbor Food Pantry, Westside Food Pantry, Emmaus Center, Loaves and Fishes, Tree of Life, Maine Sea Coast Mission Food Pantry at Weald Bethel, Island Food Pantry, AIO Food Pantry, Lifeline Food Pantry, Machias Food Pantry, China Community Food Pantry, Augusta Food Bank, Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program and Whiting Food Pantry.

“On behalf of all Bar Harbor Bank & Trust employees, our gratitude goes out to everyone who donated so generously to the food drive. Thank you for sharing what you have to help meet the needs of our neighbors,” said Gray. “Every contribution counts.”

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust is a community bank with more than $1.5 billion in assets. Founded in 1887, the bank offers a full range of financial services for individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout Maine.
