A Hollis man is facing an aggravated assault charge after a bloody confrontation Wednesday night, according to Maine State Police.

Police were called to a home on Little Falls Road around 9 p.m. for a reported stabbing, but instead found a person with a severe cut to the wrist caused by a broken window. Police said one man was punched in the face and the other was pushed through a window.

William Donovan, 21, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Donovan, who is originally from Massachusetts, had been staying at the house with two other men, 57-year-old Everett Smith and 27-year-old Kyle Barrows, according to police. Troopers said Donovan was intoxicated, assaulted both men and was later found hiding behind the garage of the home.

Barrows was taken to Maine Medical Center, where he received multiple stitches to close the wound to his wrist. Smith did not require medical attention, according to police.

Donovan was taken to York County Jail and is expected to make his first court appearance on Friday in Springvale District Court.
