HOLLIS — A Hollis man accused of drunkenly assaulting his roommates and pushing one of them out of a window has been jailed on aggravated assault charges.

According to Maine State Police Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland, William Donovan, 21, punched one man in the face and pushed another through a window in the Wednesday night incident. When troopers arrived, they found him hiding behind the garage on the property.

McCausland said Donovan, who is originally from Massachusetts, had been staying with Everett Smith, 57, and Kyle Barrows, 27, at a home on Little Falls Road.

Troopers were called to the home about 9 p.m. for a reported stabbing, which McCausland said turned out to be a severe cut to Barrows’ wrist caused by the broken window.

Troopers said Donovan was drunk when he assaulted the two men.

Barrows was treated at Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he received stitches to close the wound, said McCausland. Smith did not require medical attention.

Donovan has been charged with aggravated assault and is being held at York County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear at Springvale District Court via video link from the jail on Friday.
