WARREN (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death of an inmate at the Maine State Prison in Warren.

The Department of Corrections identified the inmate as 67-year-old Donald Riley. Deputy Commissioner Jody Breton says Riley died at around 2:15 p.m. Thursday.

Riley had served just over a year on a 91/2-year-sentence for gross sexual assault. He was also serving a concurrent two-year prison term for burglary.

The cause and manner of death wasn’t immediately known. Maine State Police and the Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating.
