By blocking action on protections for transgender students in Maine, the governor’s office is not accepting the right to equality of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

It’s time to say “yes” to equality. We need to reflect on history, when the conservative radicalization of the WASP caused conflict in our communities.

It’s time to convey to Republican leaders that we are done with the griping and the prejudiced threats. They need to know that we are ready to model the great values in which we stand together and fall together.

No matter what our creed, religion, gender identity or sexual orientation, our communities are more important than hating our neighbors. We need to say “no” to waging hate on our neighbors, communities and loved ones.

Wall Street’s “fat cats” know that if they split us, we will fail at our dreams and we will fail at growth. We are losing jobs and we need to put a stop to the Republican Party, Capitol Hill and Wall Street.

We need our communities back. We need to bring back dreams, hope and growth. We need to stop talking about blame and hate. We need to say “no” to the rhetoric.

Say you want hopes and dreams back in our communities. Now, do you feel the Bern?
