On Jan. 23, the Maine Forensic Association’s state championship debate tournament was held in Lewiston. Students from both Deering High School (varsity division) and Portland High School (junior varsity division) won state championships.
Unfortunately, the Portland Press Herald did not cover this academic event and missed a great opportunity to acknowledge very accomplished high school scholars.
