Both the University of New England and Bowdoin College will host NCAA Division III regional women’s basketball tournaments this weekend, starting Friday with first-round games.

UNE (25-3) will play Moravian College (19-7) of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Friday. The Nor’easters earned the NCAA bid by winning the Commonwealth Coast Conference championship. The other teams in UNE’s bracket include Tufts (23-3) and Regis College (24-3).

Bowdoin (20-6) will play Westfield (Massachusetts) State (20-7) on Friday. The Polar Bears earned an at-large bid. The other teams in Bowdoin’s bracket are New York University (18-7) and Lehman College (20-7).

St. Joseph’s College (23-5) will travel to Allentown, Pennsylvania, for its first-round game Friday against Christopher Newport University of Newport News, Virginia. The Monks earned their bid by winning the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. Muhlenberg College (24-2) is the host school and will play St. John Fisher in the other first-round game.

Husson University (21-6, North Atlantic Conference champs) will travel to Upper Montclair, New Jersey, for its first-round game Friday against Albright College (25-2) of Reading, Pennsylvania. Montclair State (21-6) is the host school.

Husson was the only men’s basketball team from Maine to earn a berth in the NCAA Division III tournament. The Eagles (21-6) won the North Atlantic Conference and will play at Amherst, which earned an at-large bid with a 22-5 record, on Friday.
