Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will be in Portland on Wednesday for a rally at the State Theatre on Congress Street.

The rally is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but the 1,800-seat theater is expected to fill up. Doors open at 11 a.m.

Sanders drew roughly 7,000 people to a rally in July at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.

The Vermont senator’s visit this week comes just days before Maine’s Democratic presidential caucuses on Sunday.
