Enough of the “Bernie Sanders equals Franklin D. Roosevelt” comparisons already. Sanders is no FDR.

FDR ran on a balanced-budget platform, and his first big anti-Depression measure, the National Recovery Administration, was corporatist in nature (like Mussolini’s Italy).

FDR’s genius was to combine the inspirational qualities of Sanders with the political skills of Bill and Hillary Clinton, which is why there haven’t been too many FDRs.
