SOUTH PORTLAND — Paul E. “Pauly” Spaltro, 48, formerly of Linton Street, died Feb. 27, in Westbrook.

He was born in Portland Dec. 10, 1967, a son of James and Mavis D. (Bell) Spaltro. He attended South Portland schools and graduated from South Portland High School with the class of 1988.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, fishing and camping. Spaltro had a passion for music and playing the drums, and spent many nights jamming and playing gigs with his band buddies.

Spaltro was also an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, and enjoyed spending time with family and his pets. He loved all animals, and would nurse any animal he found back to health.

Spaltro was an accomplished chef and foodie who, during his restaurant days, was known to have made amazing ice sculptures. Spaltro would go above and beyond for his friends or anyone else in need. He had a big heart, boisterous laugh and contagious smile.

Spaltro was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by three sisters, Vikki M. Spaltro, of Saco, Frances L. Spaltro, of Chicago, and Julie A. Susi, of South Portland; two brothers, James P. Spaltro, of California, and Douglas E. Spaltro, of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 5, at the South Portland Church of the Nazarene, 525 Highland Ave., South Portland. Burial will be private.
