Greg Farr, CIO of RollEase Innovation Center and senior vice president of RollEase Acmeda Inc., will semi-retire at the end of June.

Farr has experience in the home décor and building industry, with executive management positions at Hunter Douglas and Springs Window Fashions.

In addition to the research and development branch at Brunswick Landing, RollEase Acmeda has distribution centers throughout the U.S. and offices in Milan, Italy and Melbourne, Australia.

Farr established the Innovation Center in January 2014, overseeing the design and installation of the 11,234-square-foot facility, fully equipping it with the latest technology for rapid prototyping and testing. The center earned the New Business Venture award from the Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber in 2014 and the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority Business Innovation Award in November 2015.

“It’s a good time for me to leave and go back to helping businesses through change and growth processes,” Farr said. “Helping struggling companies reorganize and refocus their efforts has been my primary role for years.”

In addition to enjoying all the Midcoast has to offer, he will open a consultancy office so local companies can benefit from his expertise and experience.

Andrew Schoenberg, laboratory director, of the Composites Engineering and Research Lab, said, “We will miss working with Greg Farr at the RollEase Acmeda Research Center. He has been a significant addition to the professional business talent pool here at Brunswick Landing. We look forward to the opportunity to work with Greg in his new role, and are very happy that he is planning on staying in Maine.”
