A broad cross-section of Mainers voted Clean Elections into law by a wide margin.
Maine has a long tradition of clean and open politics. The Clean Elections law is an important step in this direction and, in this era of travesties such as Citizens United, the Clean Elections law needs our support.
It is no surprise that our current administration has tried all sorts of political maneuvers aimed at defunding Clean Elections. Such tricks must not be allowed.
All of the money pulled from the Clean Elections account in years past must be restored and the program funded as per the voice of the electorate.
