A Biddeford High School math teacher has continued the tradition of commemorating Pi Day with a musical parody about the irrational number.

This year, it’s to the tune of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

Pi Day is celebrated every year on March 14, or 3.14 – the first three digits of the mathematical constant for the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter.

This is the eighth song Jon Jacques has written for Pi Day. In previous years, the pi-themed lyrics were set to the tune of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Sweet Caroline” and “Eye of the Tiger,” among others.

Along with playing the song to his students, Jacques celebrates the day by serving pie in class and holding a Pi memorization contest. This year, he shaved the Greek symbol for the never-ending number into the back of his head.
