ORR’S ISLAND — George E. Morgan, 70, of Orr’s Island passed away peacefully on March 13, 2016 surrounded by his loving family after a long illness at Mid- Coast Hospital, Brunswick. He was born in Brunswick to Chester and Deborah Morgan on August 27, 1945. He attended Harpswell and Brunswick schools. In 1967, he married Judith Melville and even though divorced, they remained life long friends.

In his earlier years, George was a deputy for the Cumberland County Sheriff ’s Department. During the summer you would see him lobstering on his boat “Bluefish 1”. After always having an interest in cars, he opened his own garage, George’s Auto Repair, on Orr’s Island in 1993. In his later years, he enjoyed his motorcycle and antique cars. He was also a member of the Brunswick Elk’s Club.

He is predeceased by his parents and brother Gene Morgan. He is survived by his son Jim Morgan and wife Darcy of Dresden, daughter Deborah Buco and husband Todd of Arundel, grandchildren Morgan and Jacob Buco, sister Linda Furbish of Topsham, best friend and long time mechanic John Kaler of Orr’s Island.

Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 & 6-

8PM on Friday,

March 18, 2016 at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. An Elk’s service will be held Friday evening at 7:00PM. Private interment will be in the spring in Orr’s Island Cemetery.
